i just don't want to forget some things that she's been saying lately. actually, she says alot... sometimes she'll run out of things to talk about so she'll say, "and um, i don't really know, and um because i don't know...." it is hilarious.
today at the check-out counter at publix (after spending her entire shopping trip in the cart singing to the top of her lungs, "and i love my mommy and my daddy so much....." over and over) :
sk to the clerk: "my nana gave me my mousey" (nana is actually ashley's mom - a&b's nana - she did give sk a stuffed mouse from greenville and sk still adores that little mouse, although i have no idea what prompted her to share that info)
clerk: "well is that mousey there in your hand?" (sk had her pink elephant lovey with her).
sk: "um, no, this is eggy. my eggy is pink and ava's eggy is green. sometimes at night i tinkle in my diaper, but that okay, but now i have on my big girl panties."
clerk: oh!
then the bag man offers to help us out and begins telling me a story - sk doesn't like for adults to communicate in front of her without including her in the convo so she was constantly just repeating what she heard so she could be a part of it and then she says this lovely statement to the bag man: "sometimes i get m&ms when i go poo-poo."
awesome. he just smiled and kept on with his story.
today at lunch we went to our favorite little greek spot that has a great pita grilled cheese that she loves....resembles her favorite food (quesadilla). so when the lady came over to take our order i said, "she'll have the pita grilled cheese" and sk said, "i actually not want the pita grilled cheese, i just have a quesadilla, dat okay??"
i tried to kind of whisper her order because i knew she'd say something about how she didn't want a grilled cheese. so the waitress caught on to all this and when she delivered sk's lunch she said, "and here is your quesadilla." so sweet. and sk gobbled it up.
she told me today: "i need to sit on santa claus's lap and yell to him, I WANT SOME PINK EARRINGS SANTA CLAUS! dat what i need to tell him."
after nap today sk wanted me to sit and hold her for a while so i did. and this was one of our conversations:
sk: "i feel you tummy!" (she really says you...not your)
me: "i know, it's getting big isn't it?"
sk: "it getting bigger!"
me: "who is inside mommy's tummy?"
sk: in a tiny little voice, "oooh, baby hayes in there, she so tiny. i going to love her so bad and when she cries i'll say shhh shhhh shhhh don't cry baby hayes it going to be okay."
so sweet and sooooo funny!
last night our neighbor, kingslea, came over to babysit. when kingslea walked into the house sk said, "i wearing my sweeping booty dress. it pink. my daddy forgot to put a dipaer on me last night and i tinkled all over my bed, but that okay." (& that's a true story....and unfortunately, it's not the first time it has happened. sk is NOT night trained at all.)
and every single day: "i two. i not three yet, i just two. i turn three in july. july 6. i turn three. when i turn 4 i can go ride dumbo." (we've told her we're taking her back to disney world when she turns 4. she'd really just like to skip over 3 and go straight to 4.) sk is getting a big big surprise though. this morning, trey and i booked a little weekend trip for this may and we are taking her back to disney world. she is going to be so so excited when we pull into that magical place;) may as well get in another trip before she turns 3 since she won't be free anymore after that. and one last trip as a family of 3 will be nice.
we really don't have many dull moments around here.
